Assessment integrity and cancellation guidelines

💡
It is of utmost importance for us to ensure fairness, integrity, and reliability in TASK™. To this end, the expected behaviour of assessment candidates is clearly stated, monitoring features are built into our platform, and certificates are cancelled when transgressions have been observed. This page describes the expected behaviour of candidates, how certificates are cancelled, and the proctoring guidelines for in-class sessions.

Expected Behaviour

  • No collaboration / external resources: Candidates are required to take TASK™ by themselves, based on their knowledge alone, and without any outside help or external materials.
  • No impersonation: Candidates should not allow anyone to take TASK™ in their place, nor should they take TASK™ for anyone else.
  • Copying / publishing questions is strictly prohibited: It is illegal to copy, screenshot, photograph, or share TASK™ questions by any means whatsoever.
  • Camera / mic: The device camera must be turned on and positioned to provide a clear view of the candidate throughout the entire test. Obstructing the camera view is strictly prohibited.
  • One browser window only: During the assessment, all external applications, windows, and non-essential programs must be closed. The only browser window that can be open is the TASK™ website.
  • No browser or device extensions: All browser extensions, second screens, separate computers, or hand-held devices must be deactivated during the entirety of the test.
  • Stay on-page: It is prohibited to leave the TASK™ website during the test. Do not click on any other windows, tabs, or applications. Click only on the screen of the active TASK™ assessment page.
As stated in our terms and conditions, failure to comply with the above rules and regulations may result in test score cancellation, certificate annulment, service restrictions, and/or legal action. Sulitest notifies moderators of any infringement of these policies by their participating candidates.

Certificate Cancellations

  • Candidate agreement: After being informed of the expected behavior and that their certificate may be revoked if they do not comply, candidates are required to type in “I agree” in order to start the assessment.
  • Monitoring: The TASK™ platform has several monitoring functionalities, which enables Sulitest to identify when candidates have passed a threshold of unauthorized non-compliance events.
  • Cancellation: From 1 September 2025, individual certificates will be automatically cancelled in the event of non-compliance with the expected behaviour. Candidates will still access their results, but no certificate will be offered.
  • Notification: Sulitest informs the candidates directly about their certification cancellation. Moderators are also notified when cancellations have happened in their session. If moderators receive enquiries from candidates about cancelled certificates, they are encouraged to share this link where more information is available to candidates.

In-person vs. remote sessions

When creating a session, moderators indicate its location.
  • If a session is remote, candidates must share their devices’ camera and mic before starting the assessment.
  • If in-class, the moderator is responsible to ensure adequate proctoring is in place, as detailed in the section below.

Recommendations and resources for moderators

💡
Moderators are our partners to uphold the integrity of TASK™. While some information is included in the emails sent from the TASK™ platform, it is strongly recommended that moderators remind candidates of the assessment integrity and the expected behaviour when inviting them to take TASK™.

Proctoring guidelines for in-class sessions

Before the test

  1. Remind students of the assessment integrity guidelines: Remind students of the academic integrity policy and the consequences of cheating, plagiarism, or any other form of academic dishonesty. Clearly state that any instances of cheating will result in cancelling the test and potentially further disciplinary action.
  1. Prohibited materials: Explicitly state which materials are prohibited (including mobile phones, smartwatches, notes, textbooks, external communication devices), and instruct student to store them in a designated area (e.g., at the front of the room or in bags under their chairs).
  1. No talking: Inform students that talking or any form of communication during the test is strictly prohibited. Emphasize the importance of maintaining a quiet environment to avoid disturbing other test-takers. Explain how to ask questions to the proctor (e.g., raising a hand).
  1. Clarify assessment format: Provide clear and concise instructions regarding the assessment format and time limit
      • Candidates have 80 minutes to complete all 112 questions.
      • TASK™ cannot be paused. Once they begin, the timer will continue to run.
      • After half of the questions have been answered, they will have a 5-minutes break. They should still respect the assessment conditions within this break.
  1. Restroom policy: Clearly outline the restroom policy during the test. For example, only one student may leave the room at a time, and they must leave their device on their desk. Please note the TASK™ timer will continue to run/

Proctors responsibility

  • Active monitoring: Proctors must actively monitor the room throughout the entire test duration. This includes:
    • Walking around the room frequently and varying their patterns.
    • Observing student behavior for any signs of cheating, such as looking at other students’ device, using unauthorized materials, or communicating with others.
    • Paying attention to body language and eye movements.
    • Paying attention to the visual of the students monitors
  • Addressing suspicious behavior: If a proctor observes suspicious behavior, they should:
    • Approach the student discreetly and address the issue privately.
    • Document the incident, including the student's name, the time of the incident, and a detailed description of the observed behavior.
    • If necessary, confiscate any unauthorized materials.
    • Report the incident to Sulitest

Classroom disposition

  • Seating arrangement: Arrange desks to maximize spacing between students. Ideally, students should be seated at least one arm's length apart. Consider alternating rows or using every other seat if space allows. Avoid seating students in direct lines of sight to each other's papers.
  • Visual obstructions: Minimize visual distractions. Cover or remove any potentially relevant information displayed on whiteboards, posters, or other surfaces
